This was a compliment received over & over again yesterday.
Wowza – I’m lucky that loved ones see, more importantly feel, this about me.
The day was packed with silly surprises, big-time laughter & incredible waves of love flooding in from every little corner & crevice of my life. I so enjoy hearing from friends long ago & remembering good-times; times that fashioned me into a better person, just in being surrounded by such beautiful people.
I really love how birthdays will do that. They’ll evoke responses from those who knew you in a different season & loved who you were even then… thank you, FACEBOOK.
But then there are those who never left your side – stayed through the actual THIN
& rejoiced with you in all of life’s thickness, too.

I have 1 father, 1 mother, 2 sisters & 1 incredibly handsome nephew.
No they are not perfect & at times can truly make me feel that I might lose my mind… it happens when you have 2 sisters & stubborn personalities. But in the same breath I can also say, they are the ones who bring my mind “back.”
They always bring me back. Back to truth. Back to life. Back to love.
At 8am my family threw a small surprise breakfast party by the pool, cleaned my home for the next 3 hours (I was advised to NOT TOUCH one thing for about a week – they really DO love me 😉 ), took me to eat some seriously good Texas bar-b-q, sat through a Disney movie so I might get lost in a fairytale (I’ll never be too old & never stop believing)…
… and finally, told me how special I am not only through words, but actions.
I love you Gene, Donya, Ashley & Lacey Strother… You are my 4. My closest. My strongest.
Ty David, you are my most precious.
All of you help me “make 29 look good.”
Sincerely, Holly
